100 Words - City
Hello, it’s Monday. I think the weekend went by entirely too fast, don’t you?
Today brings not only the start of the week but also my very late contribution to the Velvet Verbosity 100 words. Believe it or not, I worked over the weekend and still didn’t get to writing it before now. I hope you’ll excuse the delay.
This week I’ve decided to have a little fun with my character from last week. Mr. Talbert is just a little too much fun to so easily leave behind, so I hope you’ll enjoy another one of his 100 word adventures.
This week, we take our inspiration from the word: City.
Enjoy…
City. City. Filthy, filthy city.
Mr. Talbert, Mr. Frank Talbert, pushed open the door from the psychiatrist’s office with his shoulder. His hands were entirely too busy to push it open, occupied with the antibacterial wet wipes he always kept on his person.
Not that he would have touched it anyway. Filthy doors. Just like the rest of the filthy city.
He stood at the top of the concrete stairs and looked down at the many people and vehicles, each hurrying on along. They looked like bugs. Filthy, disgusting, ever-touching bugs.
The city was just one big concrete bug farm.
I’d just like you all to know that I actually love the city. Melbourne is probably my favourite place on earth and it’s a huge city. However, Mr. Talbert let me know quite clearly what he thinks of the city. The unfortunate thing is that he doesn’t have much to say about the countryside either…
