Thursday Thirteen on Monday!

Monday, June 2nd, 2008
thursday-thirteen.jpg

No, no, it’s alright. You haven’t suddenly lost half a week. It is Monday. However, I have decided to do something a little different this week.

I’m declaring a Thursday Thirteen week.

I am rather fond of Thursdays, so what better way to have a great week than to pretend every day is Thursday? Thus, every day this week (except Friday) I will be putting up thirteen prompts for your prompt writing pleasure.

Enjoy!

Thirteen Writing Prompts

1. “I think I’ve said too much.”
2. Write a story using the letters of your name. Each new paragraph much start with a word starting with the corresponding letter.
3. “And so it goes.”
4. Invent a new drink. What does it taste like? Is it hot or cold? How do you make it? Alcoholic? Juice?
5. “The nights are endless around here.”
6. Create your version of hell. What does it look like? Feel like? What makes it hell?
7. Create your version of heaven. What makes it heaven?
8. “Same shit. Different day.”
9. Describe your favourite food without ever telling what the food actually is. See if people know what you’re talking about.
10. You meet a man at a café who tells you this is the first day he’s spoken in twenty years. What’s his story?
11. “Oh, you’ll never believe it! I can hardly believe it myself.”
12. Do some research on poetry and write a poem in a style you’ve never written in before.
13. “It’s easier to believe that the dark wins.”

Get the Thursday Thirteen code here!

If you participate, leave the link to your Thirteen in others comments. It’s easy, and fun! Be sure to update your Thirteen with links that are left for you, as well! I will link to everyone who participates and leaves a link to their 13 things. Trackbacks, pings, comment links accepted!

So check in here at Write Anyway, flex your writing muscles, find some inspiration, write a little every day, and no matter how daunting your task, just write anyway.
