Friday Fill-Ins

Friday Fill-Ins 98

Friday, November 14th, 2008

Woohoo! It’s Friday! I’m very thankful it’s Friday. I have been waiting for the end of this week all week. (How bad is that…) Anyway, it has been a decent week, but yeah. Time for my favourite Friday activity…

Friday Fill-In #98:

1. Please feel free to leave me a comment.
2. When I get a bouquet of flowers I can’t help sniffing it occasionally.
3. My favorite thing to cook is pretty much anything I haven’t cooked before. My favourite thing is experimenting with new things.
4. Sushi is something I can’t get enough of.
5. That’s the thing I love most about the world.
6. Some of the videos I see on the internet always make me think to myself, what the heck?
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to relaxing a bit, tomorrow my plans include welcoming my husband back home and Sunday, I want to relax some more with my husband!

Yeah, my husband has been gone on a work trip since Tuesday and I am definitely looking forward to having him back home. I never like being separated from him, especially for more than one night. But, we do what we must and he must make trips to Tasmania for work.

Yeah, I’m kinda jealous, too. I’d love to go down there!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend full of wonderful weekend-y things. I’m sure I will, too. I will be back, as usual, on Sunday with Sunday Scribblings. (They might be a little late with all the ‘husband is home’ distractions.)

Friday Fill-Ins 97

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Woohoo! It’s Friday. *happy dance*

It’s certainly been an interesting week, but I can’t say I’m not happy to see the end of it. I am ready to rest, relax, and spend some time with my husband before he goes on a work trip. And, of course, I’m ready to do the Friday Fill-Ins…

1. My blueprint for success includes treating people how you’d like to be treated, remembering you are as important as your clients, being true to yourself and remembering that happiness is something that you find, not something you buy.
2. Flake (crumbly stick of chocolate) was the last candy I ate.
3. The best facial moisturizer I’ve ever used is non-existent, as I have never used a facial moisturizer.
4. Going out and being amongst nature can be good therapy.
5. I’d like to tell you about a song I wrote. You might want to sing it note for note.
6. I’d have to say my empathy is my strongest characteristic.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to chatting with friends, tomorrow my plans include getting a replacement wheel for the elliptical and Sunday, I want to relax as much as possible and hopefully play some computer games!

And there you have it! Another fun Friday. I’m thinking about suggesting some Fill-Ins for one of the Fridays. What do you think? I love the Fill-Ins, so it would be nice to contribute…

I’ll let you know what I decide.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend full of whatever it is you’re dreaming of. I’ll be back here as usual on Sunday for the Sunday Scribblings.

Best,

JM

Friday Fill-Ins 96

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Woohoo! It’s Friday!

This week went by pretty darn fast for me, so no complaining about that from me today. I am, as always very happy for the weekend. Tomorrow the man and I are going to get an elliptical as well as a bicycle (the latter is being given to me for free by a friend who no longer uses it).

A pretty darn good weekend ahead, if you ask me! Of course, you always have the added plus of no work on the weekend, but I always end up doing at least a little bit, so…

Here is the Friday Fill-In #96. I hope you enjoy my answers, and be sure to leave me a link to yours!

1. My favorite food seasoning is probably sesame oil with soy sauce coming in second as a very strong competitor.
2. The sound of wooden wind chimes, people laughing… is music to my ears.
3. Lucky is as lucky does.
4. My future with my husband is something I take very seriously.
5. Many people say many things, but many people rarely do many things.
6. Erm… a few baby things were the last thing I bought at the store. (No, I’m not expecting.)
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to relaxing with the husband (as always), tomorrow my plans include picking up various exercise equipment, maybe starting NaNoWriMo and Sunday, I want to do whatever I feel like doing!

That Sunday one may include a nap. I’m sleeeepy and it’s only 4pm.

Of course, I almost completely forgot about NaNoWriMo… I still have no idea if I am going to do it or not. I only have eight hours left to decide…

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Friday Fill-Ins 95

Friday, October 24th, 2008

It’s Friday! Once again I have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the start of the weekend. Especially after this week when it has seemed like this, that and every little thing has been popping up just to make life a little more difficult.

You know those kind of weeks…

But the weekend is finally here and I am embracing it with open arms! I’m not sure how much of a weekend I’ll actually end up having (I have a lot of work to do) but not having to work to a daily deadline always helps.

What else helps is one of my favourite Friday activities! The Friday fill-ins. Here is edition 95…

1. Right now, I’m feeling like having a big piece of chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream while watching a good movie.
2. The world where #1 is happening is where I want to be.
3. How does one win the lottery so one can afford a house and baby…?
4. My husband usually keeps me on track.
5. Please don’t try to invalidate my experiences.
6. My husband fills me with joy.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to taking some time to relax even though that’s doubtful at this point, tomorrow my plans include working some more and Sunday, I want to do something… I have no idea…!

Mmm. Chocolate cake. Sounds good to me!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend full of relaxation, creativity, bonding and, should you so choose, a big piece of chocolate cake. I’ll be back here on Sunday with Sunday Scribblings.

Friday Fill-Ins 92, 93, 94

As you know, I’ve been on vacation, so I’m going to play a bit of catch-up with the fill-ins I’ve missed. I’ll be posting three of them today…

It’s Friday! And a catchup Friday at that, so three times the fill-in fun…

1. October showers bring May flowers… wait, that’s not right.
2. Marshmallow peeps scare me!
3. Leaves are falling all around, it’s the end of the world as we know it!
4. My favorite horror movie is the Halloween movies because I grew up with them.
5. Australia = good memories.
6. It was a dark and stormy night because nights are always dark and sometimes stormy.

From October 9th:

1. One of the best concerts/plays/movies I ever saw that I really didn’t think I’d like was The Dish.
2. The Lord Nelson Schnitzel is a recipe I recently made (or meal I recently ordered) that was delicious!
3. It’s time for computer games!
4. Gin and tonic is quite refreshing.
5. If I never hear the word totally again, it’ll be too soon.
6. To one side of the curving road was a chicken, and on the other was a Colonel Sanders.

From October 17th:

1. Follow the bouncing ball.
2. A first aid kit is something I always take with me on vacation.
3. To achieve your goals, you must know what your goals are.
4. My love for Australia is something I’d like you to know about me.
5. I have a husband.
6. The boat floats.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to relaxing, tomorrow my plans include going to the movies and Sunday, I want to relax some more!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Friday Fill-Ins Archives Edition - #50

Friday, October 10th, 2008

Hi all and happy Friday! Once again I am ‘away from my desk’ so you’ll have to do with another round from the archives today. The good news is that, if I’m not back already, I will be back soon! And then I’ll be able to catch up with all the FFIs I missed while I was away.

Here’s another one from December 2007:

Fill in the lyrics…with the correct ones or ones of your own :-) Have fun!

1. Away in a manger, no room for a luxury size yacht.
2. Dashing through the snow, in a big ol’ truck with chains on the tires and an engine in it that you can hear three counties away.
3. Hark! The herald angels are trying to let you know that your mother wants you home for dinner at 6pm sharp!.
4. It’s coming on christmas already? It’s barely October and yet the shops are already going for Christmas. Eesh.
5. When I was small I believed in Santa Claus, Though I knew it was a heap of frog poot.
6. That Christmas magic’s brought this tale is a strange thing.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to wringing as much as I can out of what’s left of my vacation, tomorrow my plans include doing the same thing, even more so and Sunday, I want to somehow make a machine that will slow down time so I can savour the last moments of my vacation for as long as I like!

I hope you all had a wonderful week and have a lot of fun this weekend! I’m wishing you plenty of creativity and free time.

Friday Fill-In Archives - #42

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

Hi all! Since I can’t be sure that I’ll be able to get online to do this week’s version of the Friday Fill-In, I’m going back into the archives at Friday Fill-Ins and am posting ahead so I can still play along (without technically being here).

I hope you will forgive not being able to play along like usual, but we have to do what we have to do, right?

So here is a blast from the Friday Fill-In past - #42:

Here we go!

1. October is starting out as a very busy month for me, but I’m hoping it’ll calm down soon.
2. The prospect of October keeping this level of busy doesn’t scare me!
3. Haunted houses are places I’ve never actually been.
4. My favorite scary movie is The Grudge (the original version) because it’s a lot scarier than the US version.
5. I am me.
6. It was a dark and stormy night is not at all a good way to start your next novel.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to taking some more time relaxing with my husband, tomorrow my plans include spending most of my time at the Conflux writer’s conference having fun and talking to people and Sunday, I want to relax relax because I’m taking part of my first discussion panel!

And that’s it for this week’s Friday Fill-In. I’ll be back next Friday with another Fill-In from the archives. I’ll be back and doing the regular stuff on the 13th. Until then, have a wonderful time!

Wishing you much creativity.

Friday Fill-Ins #91

Friday, September 26th, 2008

Happy Friday! Once again, I am a bit late with my fill-ins, but I have been so incredibly busy with everything going on in my life (big trip coming up with way too much to get all set before I leave… Eeek!). This weekend is no exception to the busyness, unfortunately.

But, the weather has been great - plenty of sunshine and warmth - I have shopping to do (fun shopping), and I may be stressed with all the things I have to do, but I have to do them because I’m going to an awesome writer’s conference and following that with an awesome vacation.

All in all: Awesomeness.

But, enough of my babbling. On to the fill-ins! Remember to leave a link for me if you’re participating.

1. The writer’s conference, visiting friends and starting on some new projects are some of the things I’m most looking forward to in October.

2. Sometimes I just want to take a day to sleep, read and watch television.

3. I have tried sushi, squid, baby octopus, chicken feet and loads of other things I never thought I would ever try, and that’s why there is a saying, “never say never”!

4. When I’m down, I am tired.

5. In front of the computer is where you’ll find me most often.

6. A rainy day is good for reading, getting work done, relaxing.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to being busy as usual, tomorrow my plans include getting my hair cut and Sunday, I want to relax a little and hopefully get a chai!

Woohoo! I hope you all have an excellent weekend. I know I will.

Friday Fill-In #90

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Too much to do and not enough time seems like the theme for me this week, and no doubt it will continue into the next as well. With all that going on, it’s the little prompty fun things that get my mind going that I really enjoy.

My novel has been calling my name quite loudly over the past few days and all these prompts (I get ideas from the strangest places sometimes) certainly aren’t helping to quiet things, that’s for sure. Ah well, better than writer’s block!

Without further ado…

1. There is no need to cry over spilled milk unless it was hot milk and you spilled it on yourself. Ouchies.

2. Where in the heck did the cat go? (That’s just weird because I don’t even have a cat.)

3. The bare minimum is all I managed to do.

4. Prospects for gold! (No idea where this one came from either…)

5. All your base are belong to us is the message.

6. Simplicity and tranquility are two words that end in ‘ity’. Exciting, I know.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to relaxing, tomorrow my plans include shopping and Sunday, I want to have a good meal and great conversation with a friend!

And there you have it. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend full of sunshine and fun. I know I am going to have a busy one, but so it goes. Just a day in the life and it’s a life that I’m loving living.

Thank you for stopping by!

Friday Fill-In #89

Friday, September 12th, 2008

It’s that time again!

Yeah, I’m annoying myself with that one a bit, too. I’ll change it for next week.

It is a lovely Friday here in Melbourne with beautiful weather that makes me wish I wasn’t sitting inside the flat working away. I fully plan on getting out and about this weekend, though, so no worries there by any means.

Friday means it’s time for this week’s Friday Fill-In.

1. I enjoy good food, good company and as much travel as I can afford to do.

2.Where I will be and who I will be a few years from now is something I wonder about often lately.

3. In your heart, you knew I am the one for you, bebe.

4. Take a shot of rum, add a little good conversation and you end up with a nice night out. (Mind you, I’ve never actually had rum before.)

5. Life has gifted me with a second chance.

6. Spending time with my husband is an instant vacation.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to getting good news from the doc, tomorrow my plans include relaxing and helping my husband feel better (he got sick earlier this week) and Sunday, I want to do… something… maybe?… something!

Yes, as you can see, I have all kinds of interesting and weird plans for this weekend. It’s actually kind of odd that my husband and I don’t have anything we need to get to this weekend. I’m sure my husband is grateful for it, but it makes me a bit bouncy and ready to get going.

But I’ll try to leave him be. I promise.

Friday Fill-Ins #88

Friday, September 5th, 2008

Woohoo! Time for Friday Fill-Ins again and I am so ready for the weekend! If only it lasted longer than two days, hm? Oh well. I’ll take what I can get!

This week I’m going to use rather obscure song lyrics; you can fill them in with the correct words if you know ‘em…but wouldn’t it be more fun to do it a bit differently?

And…here we go!

1. If I was to walk into your life, would you let me stay?

2. Catch a bright star and place it a little to the left. No, your other left. A little more… A little more…

3. And you can send me the check in the mail.

4. I’m trying to leave the past behind but I’m dealing with a memory that never forgets.

5. I’m the innocent bystander / Somehow I got stuck our here in the middle of nowhere.

6. What’s keeping us apart isn’t selfishness, it’s logic.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to stopping working!, tomorrow my plans include checking out exercise equipment and Sunday, I want to go grocery shopping and then relax!

And there you have it! I rather like this week’s edition. I don’t think I know any of the songs on there, to be honest, so it would be funny to know if I accidentally got any of the lyrics right.

I hope you all have an excellent weekend full of a lot of time to write, a lot of writing and heaps of creativity. I’ll be back Monday (or maybe sooner… oooo…) with more prompts of all shapes and sizes for you.

Friday Fill-Ins #87

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

Another Friday, and thank goodness for that! I’m always happy for a Friday to come around, but I’m especially happy for this one because I think my husband has been working way too hard lately and needs a break from things.

Remember to leave a comment so I can check out your answers!

Friday Fill-Ins

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

Welcome to Friday Fill-Ins, my favourite Friday activity. There is something about this meme that really gets me ready to go for the weekend. I think it might be that last fill-in because it gets me thinking about all the things I want to accomplish on the weekend.

Or maybe because it’s just plain fun and that’s exactly what I need on a Friday. What do you think?

As always, if you decide to play along, leave a link in the comments to where you’ve posted your response or respond right in the comments. Have fun!

1. Dancing to the __________ while __________ makes me __________. Radio, cleaning, feel happy and like I’m getting a work out while cleaning.

A very exciting weekend ahead, as you can tell. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Friday Fill-Ins #84

Friday, August 8th, 2008

It’s Friday! Woo-hoo! I am so, so ready for the weekend. How about you? Or you an unfortunate soul who has to work on the weekend as well? Bleck. I’ll probably have to do some work, but at least not as much. Phew!

On to my latest favourite meme!

Here we go:

1. You know you’re old when __________. the snap, crackle, pop you hear in the morning isn’t your brekkie cereal.

2. My heart is divided between __________ and __________. kissing my husband, smacking him. Hahaha. Kidding. Erm… Being a hardcore housewife, being a hardcore freelancer.

6. __________ as soon as you can! Give me a time machine

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to _____, tomorrow my plans include _____ and Sunday, I want to _____! getting some rest, canceling my gym membership, do something fun

I’m beginning to think that I have way too much fun with this meme. Then again, why not? It’s a Friday meme and I reckon everyone should start having fun Friday afternoon given that the weekend is coming. Heck, the weekend starts on Friday afternoon for some people.

That being said, I hope you all have an absolutely wonderful weekend. As always, if you participate in any of these memes on your blog, leave a link so I can check out what you have to say!

Have a good one.

Friday Fill-Ins

Friday, August 1st, 2008

It’s Friday! Fridays are excellent days, I think. One of those reasons is because I get to play two of my favourite memes on Fridays - Friday Feast and the more recent one I’ve found, Friday Fill-Ins.

As it turns out, Friday Feast seems to be down for the moment. I’m not sure what is happening there, as no notice has been left, but I hope everything is okay and that the chef will be back soon. I’m not quite ready to make my own Friday Feast, but I’ll probably start next week if the chef isn’t back by then.

So today, as one way to welcome in August, I’ll be playing the one and only Friday Fill-In. I hope you enjoy and play either here in the comments or on your own blog. Leave a link so I can check out what you’ve written if you decide to play on your own blog.

And now to the fill-ins!

Here we go:

1. If I could travel back in time, I’d go to __________. When I was a child. I’d tell myself that everything will be okay.

2. Give me __________ or give me __________. Cheesecake, chocolate meringue.

3. I am listening to __________. My husband cooking in the kitchen. Poor guy is overworked and I’m busy posting here.

4. Somewhere, someone is thinking __________. I shouldn’t have eaten that taco.

5. I’ll always be __________. Female

6. My idea of a good time includes __________. Laughter

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to _____, tomorrow my plans include _____ and Sunday, I want to _____! Getting some answers from the naturopath, bonding with my husband, have a ball before I start a new diet.

And there you have it. I quite like this meme and I hope you do as well. Have a great weekend, and I’ll be back Monday.
