Contemplating Nature
Does anyone find the “I’m here but I’m not really here’ thing weird? As I sit here typing this (in the last week of September), it strikes me as slightly odd…
But I’m probably just over thinking things way too much.
Being Tuesday the 7th, I have had a nice night catching up with friends and a good sleep. (They’re so generous to lend us a sleeping space for a couple nights.) We’ll either be heading up to Sydney for a bit of a wander around, going on a hike, or doing something else. (I doubt we’ll decide on anything until the day of.) We might even go out to the beach for a while.
No matter what we do (with a few exceptions), we’ll be taking in some glorious views of Australian nature and hopefully taking some great photographs as well.
Today I would like you to think about nature.
What are your favourite nature-related things? Do you like thunderstorms? Niagara Falls? Jungles? Roses? Summer in general?
When it comes to nature, there is almost an unlimited number of things that you can talk/write about, so try thinking of your favourite things and write about them directly or use them in a setting for a scene.
Remember, to help clear your mind before you start writing, take a few deep breaths. Focus on the sound of the air entering and leaving your lungs. Let the noises and worries of the day fade for a few moments while you focus only on breathing.
After you are calm, think about your experiences and start writing.
Wishing you heaps of creativity and a generous muse.
