Musical Monday Goodbye
Hello everyone to another Musical Monday!
As per usual, when I have a fun and happy theme, I follow it with a slightly depressing theme or something that makes you a little…sigh-ish.
This week’s theme is ‘goodbye’. Saying goodbye, leaving, moving on…goodbye is almost always never an easy thing. It’s often filled with emotions and regrets. Saying goodbye is often a necessity, but not usually something we want to do.
So this week we explore those feelings, where they have taken us in the past, and where they will likely take us in the future.
Here are three songs that I think represent three of the feelings that can surround saying goodbye. I hope you enjoy and have a lovely Monday.
Goodbye to You – Michelle Branch
This is the first song that popped into my head when I thought about doing a goodbye themed week. More than just being another sad song, it’s actually somewhat wistful in both it’s sound and lyrics.
Goodbye Love – RENT
Rent is the first musical I saw performed professionally and I have been in love with it since I first heard the music. I couldn’t have a goodbye theme week without including this song. I hope you love it as much as I do.
Goodbye Girl – David Gates
I actually know this song as performed by Hootie and the Blowfish (and I thought that was the only version), but I can’t seem to find it. The original version is quite nice and different from the Hootie, version, though. Enjoy.
