Musical Monday…Work
I was wondering what theme I could put up for this week and once again felt stuck. I have covered quite a broad range of subjects so far…
What could I pick? What’s something everyone can talk about? Can write about? What’s something that’s all the above as well as something that everyone can identify with?
That’s right: Work
We all (well, most of us) have to do it. Eventually. At one time or another and in one form or another. Some of us work for one person and others work for a whole heap of bosses. Some work from home and others work at an office.
This week you can rant, rave, praise, or whatever else you like as you talk about your work space. Write about one aspect or any aspect.
Work gets long and annoying. We make friends at work. We make enemies at work. There are workplace politics, lunchroom annoyances, customer service stories, and much more. (Why didn’t I think of using this as a theme before?)
To help you on your writing way, I’ve picked out a few songs that are at least somewhat related to work. The first one – Working In A Coal Mine – should put a smile on the face of anyone who either grew up with the song or is simply dreading yet another Monday morning at work…
Lee Dorsey – Working in a Coal Mine (This is my ‘had to include it’ pick of the week. I absolutely love this song.)
Kelly Rowland – Work
Jimmy Eat World – Work
