NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo

by JM

nano_participant_icon_large.gifFor the month of November, Write Anyway is going to run a bit differently than it usually does because of NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo.

First off, an intro to both events for those who aren’t familiar with them.

NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. In the month of November, participants’ goal is to write a novel with 50,000 words (that’s the minimum, not the maximum). On the site you can get involved in regional rivalries, as for help, talk to others who are writing in your genre, and more.

nablo07120×240.jpgNaBloPoMo stands for National Blog Posting Month. All you have to do is post at least once a day for the entire month of November. That includes the weekends. By luck of random draw, you get the chance to win some awesome prizes (one of which is from me) for participating. (Keep in mind she does check to make sure you posted every day!) You can post either on the blog available on the NaBlo site or on your own blog.

So, for next, week, we’ll have a short theme week (Monday through Wednesday) and then get right into NaNo/NaBlo posts on the first.

Once a day for NaNo and once a day for NaBlo (two posts a day) I’ll be putting up something for participants. There will be questions for you to answer, dares for you to try to incorporate in your stories, and more.

If you’re not participating in either of these (though I encourage you to do so!), you can still use the prompts for your writing/blog.

Good luck to all the participants!

About Write Anyway

"Write Anyway" is a combination of writing warm-ups, good and bad writing examples, encouragement, and even (constructive) criticism.

Composing an essay, writing a novel, creating a short story, structuring a press release, drafting a play, cranking out anther blog post, or whatever your project, can be intimidating, frustrating and exasperating when the words just won't come. So check in here at Write Anyway, flex your writing muscles, find some inspiration, write a little every day, and no matter how daunting your task, just write anyway.
