It’s day six and today is the day you get at least one fifth of the way into your NaNo novel! (If you aren’t already or hopefully get to if you, like me, are behind.)
Today’s suggestion to help get you going and keep you motivated?
Take a bath.
No, you don’t smell. Maybe.
A surprising number of writers like/need a hot bath or shower to help inspire them. Why? There are probably a number of reasons, the biggest being that when you can relax your body, your mind is likely to follow. When your mind is relaxed, then your subconscious and creativity can have more play room.
No matter what the reason. A hot bath or shower combined with some relaxation might be just the trick to helping you figure out where to go next, the answer to the problem, or even what story to start over with if you need to.
Remember, to have accomplished the minimum of what you need to do today, all you have to get to is 10,002 words. And then you’re done if you wish.
So go take a bath, have some yummy food, and get creative.
Now I’m off to work on my NaNo. I have…a bit to go to make the minimum. Hehe
