Sunday Scribblings 133 - My Style
Today is an interesting Sunday as I’m going to be typing with one hand. I wonder how fast I can go… Of course, if I hadn’t said anything you wouldn’t know the difference… I just thought I’d share anyway. Hee!
“The prompt this week is: My Style. Do you know what your style is? Or you have you ever said, “That’s not my style!” Do you have a personal style? What do you think about style? It’s a weird word when you look at it. What do you make of style?”
I can honestly say that I have never said, “That’s not my style!” Something about the phrase makes me giggle a bit, but I think that’s just because I’m being a bit pedantic. I have said, “Well, that’s just not me” which is pretty much along the same lines.
So what is me? Well… I suppose ‘easy going with an appreciation of beauty”. That’s a bit of a mouthful, but it’s all I could think of. I’m not a person whose has an extreme or clearly defined style. I like a bit of everything - well, mostly everything. Overall, comfort is key. (Though I have worn uncomfortable things before.)
In and of itself, I don’t like the word style. In ‘lifestyle’ it’s not too bad, but ’style’ reminds me too much of ‘fashion’ and I could rant quite a bait on that. ‘Essence’ or even ‘groove’ (hehe) is good when talking about a person’s overall persona.

This one was a bit of a hard/weird one for me. Sorry for rambling and not making a whole lot of sense.

i to equate style with fashion,, and i have for a number of years stayed away from fashion deliberately because it became such a money grabber,, and not a true statement of self at all…

It doesn’t sound like rambling to me, it sounds like your “way,” which seems to be a comfortable kind of being. Nice!

My youngest will wave her hand in front of her body and sniff, “That’s not my style.”
Totally cracks me up.
